An Update from the Wilsons

Our family is excited to share that we are beginning the process of foster-to-adopt! We have been praying for a long time about how God will bring another child into our family, patiently waiting on His timing. We started looking into a foster-to-adopt program a few months ago. We chose DCS (Indiana Dept of Child Services), got matched with an amazing caseworker, started our classes in mid-July, and are now almost licensed!

Each step of the way has been and will be covered in prayer, which is where we are asking for your help. Would you please pray for me, Seth, the boys, and the child(ren) who will be in our care soon?

It is hard to write one blog post that sums up years of prayers, emotions, discussions, meetings, and appointments, but here is an article that gives you a glimpse into one family's foster-to-adopt journey:
http://www.focusonthefamily.com/parenting/adoptive_families/wait-no-more.aspx#

Seth and I feel much the same way as the authors of this article, which is an excerpt from a great book about foster-to-adopt called Wait No More. "There was no way we could see what we were seeing – precious faces, voices, and lives of real kids in desperate need – and go back to our comfortable life unchanged...We were excited – thrilled, really. And scared. But we believed as we trusted the Lord with all our hearts, leaned not on our own understanding, and acknowledged Him in all our ways that He was directing our path (Proverbs 3:5-6)."

Thank you to those who have already shown us encouragement and provided advice along the way.

We welcome your questions, covet your prayers, rely on the support of friends & family, and are so excited to see what God has in store!

It has been awhile...

It's been about 10 months since my last blog update. Did anyone notice? I guess with facebook and the ability to text pictures to family members, the "old-fashioned" blog is becoming out of date. For the record, the boys are finishing up the school year and gearing up for summertime! Happy summer to you all!

Psalm 100

Asher's class recited Psalm 100 today during the Mother's Day Program. I had him recite it again at home for the camera. It's amazing to see! So thankful that he's memorizing God's Word!
