- Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin by Lloyd Moss. This is a new favorite! We checked out the book and the Reading Rainbow video. My four year old son loved it.
- The Philharmonic Gets Dressed by Karla Kuskin. A cute book, though I could have done without the page mentioning the women putting on certain underclothes.
- Gallop by Rufus Butler Seder. Very cool.
- Pete's a Pizza by William Steig. My four year old couldn't wait to show daddy this story! He enjoyed the humor.
- On Mother's Lap by Ann Herbert Scott. A sweet book.
- The Berenstain Bears Bigger Book of Stories. Huge fans of Berenstain Bears.
- Make Way for Ducklings by Robery McCloskey. A long-time favorite.
- Deer at the Brook by Jim Arnosky. Did not hold the attention of my 4 and 22 mo. old boys.
- Eating the Alphabet: Fruits & Vegetables from A to Z by Lois Ehlert. This was recommended by a friend. We are looking forward to reading it!
- A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond AUDIO CD. Both of my boys listen *quietly* to this audiobook in the car! Enough said :)

What's In Your Book Basket?
The Happy Housewife has a series on books currently checked out from the library. Since we are avid readers, I thought I would participate. I love adding to my library list, and hopefully we can share some of our favorites. I have a spreadsheet where I list, by month, what books I will check out for myself and my boys. When I get a recommendation, I add it to my list, rather than store it in my unreliable memory! Here's what we have this week...

I too use a lot of audiobooks for traveling!! and dinner prep, and when I need to take a phone call, and when I need a minute to gather my wits!! Love 'em. :D
Great list - we'll have to check out the Zin!Zin! book - always looking for new books to read around here.
Getting Paddington on audio is a great idea. I'll have to see if our library has it.
Ooooh, I see some of our old favorites and some new titles to try as well. Thanks! :)
Great list! Make Way for Ducklings is one of my favorite children's books! I love the idea of creating a spreadsheet, I definitely need to implement something like that in my house, with 7 kids there is no way I can remember all the books I want to check out!

It's so neat to see the other books Mamas have for their kiddos. I haven't read any of those to mine yet. Good list for taking to the library! :)
You forgot Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Or, do we consider that just light reading?
I haven't tried audio books yet for our little gal. I kept thinking she was too young, but your littlest is younger (22 vs. 26 months) so maybe I will give it a try! I love your list and added quite a few to mine.
BTW, your little guys are just plain adorable!
